BANGOR, Maine — Presque Isle senior Madelyn Wing has committed to join the swimming program at Husson University.

Butch Babin, head women’s swimming and diving coach at Husson University, made the announcement Jan. 16.

Wing scored as a finalist at last year’s state swim meet and has experience as a USA-S club swimmer. She joins Erin Aucoin of Brewer as the university’s latest swimming recruits.

“I am very excited about their decision to attend Husson University in the fall,” Babin said. “These are two swimmers that will help move our program to the next level.”

Wing will enter HU as a distance freestyler with experience in both the 1,650 and 1,000 freestyle. In addition, Wing competes in the butterfly and backstroke.

“She will give us diversity in both the distance freestyle events and the longer stroke events, “ Babin added.

Wing, who swims for the Class A Carlisle co-op team, is a member of the Hurricane Swim Club and plans to study Forensic Science at Husson.
