Robert ‘Bob’ V. Beaulieu

MAPLETON, Maine – Robert ‘Bob’ V. Beaulieu, 73, passed away on February 2, 2018, in Presque Isle. He was born on October 13, 1944, in Presque Isle, the son of the late Levi and Yvonne (Guerrette) Beaulieu.

Upon graduating from Presque Isle High School in 1963, he went to work for Northern Pipe and Supply in Presque Isle. Later he worked for Aroostook Plumbing and Heating. He then opened his own plumbing and heating business for five years and went on to work twenty-three years for Industrial Heating and Piping in Caribou, Maine. His knowledge of his craft was put to use frequently when family and friends called upon him for help. He would drop everything and lend a hand.
Bob absolutely loved outdoor activities, especially fishing. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, and riding around in his truck taking pictures of the beauty of nature. A game of horseshoe or cards was a favorite pastime as well. Family barbeques and Christmas celebrations were very special to him. Many stories were told and re-told at those gatherings and as with any good story, they seemed to get more and more grand each time they were told.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Roach Beaulieu of Mapleton; his son, Jeffrey Beaulieu and his wife, Shawn, of Easton; daughter, Kimberly Beaulieu-Cyr; daughter, Loriann Bates and her husband, Kurt; and son, Robert W. Beaulieu and his wife, Helen, all of PI; and eight wonderful grandchildren, Kurtis and Kilynne Beaulieu, Shantelle and Adam Cyr, Drew and Natalie Bates, and Jaida and Dawson Beaulieu; and one great-granddaughter, Isabella Jewell. He is also survived by two sisters, Lucille Hay and her husband, William, of Presque Isle, and Sue Hersey of Kenduskeag; a brother, Philip Beaulieu and his wife, Carol, of Oregon; special nephew, Randy Beaulieu of Mapleton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond Beaulieu and Clifford Beaulieu; and two sisters; Priscilla Beaulieu and Cecile Bragdon.
Friends and family called at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, where a celebration of life was held at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, think of Bob the next time you are enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. He would love that. Online condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
