Owl player gains ACAA honor

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The University of Maine at Presque Isle’s Anthony Chacho has been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 11. 

The senior guard from Watertown, Connecticut, helped UMPI to an 85-82 victory Saturday over the College of St. Joseph (Vermont). Chacho poured in 22 points as he connected on five of eight attempts from behind the 3-point arc and also hit on seven of his eight attempts from the free throw line.

Chacho also recorded seven assists and despite being just 5-11, was the leading rebounder in the game, pulling down 14.
