Club hosts blood drive

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Boys & Girls Club of Presque Isle will host a blood drive on Tuesday, May 22.

The event will run from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at the Aroostook Band of Micmacs Administration Building (7 Northern Rd.) in the council chambers.

Youth at the Club reminded the public of the critical need for blood; supplies are already low and the summer season puts a high demand on the Red Cross. Typically it takes a little over an hour to complete the donation process, with the actual taking of the blood lasting only about 10 minutes. The process is painless, said youth representatives.

To make an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org. Fill out the Rapid Pass form to expedite the process further.

Snacks and refreshments will be available for donors following the procedure.

For more information on the local Boys & Girls Club or to donate, contact Nichole Francis, 7 Northern Rd., Presque Isle.
