Theresa Marquis Ouillette

CARIBOU, Maine – Theresa Marquis Ouillette, 89, died June 6, 2018, in Van Buren. She was born in Van Buren July 14, 1928, the daughter of the late William and Adele (Castonguay) Marquis.
She was a 1947 graduate of Van Buren Girls School, and following graduation she worked at Northern National Bank in Van Buren for four years. Theresa married Richard Ouillette November 27, 1950, and together they raised seven children. He predeceased her in December 2016, following more than 66 years of marriage. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a faithful member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a member and past President of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she also held numerous other positions over the years. She was also a member of the Henry B. Prat Post 15 American Legion. Mrs. Ouillette was employed at Cochran’s Hallmark for many years and following her retirement she became a dedicated volunteer at Cary Medical Center. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she loved her family dearly. The joy of her retirement was being able to travel with Richard to visit her children, near and far.
She is survived by three sons, Mark and wife, Gwen, of Pittsfield, MA., Robert and wife, Judy, of Tucson, AZ., and Shawn and wife, Julie, of Pittsfield, MA.; three daughters, Gail and husband, Jon Langley, of Caribou, Sharon Wall of Casco and Michelle and husband, Paul Mistler, of Scarborough; ten grandchildren, Jeff and Brent Langley, Tim and Monique Ouillette, Danielle Welch, Christopher, Casey and Lily Ann Ouillette, and Hannah and Luke Mistler; five great-granddaughters, Amelia Langley, Anne and Jane Welch, and Sadie and Evie Ouillette; five great-grandsons, Dalton and Samuel Langley, Elijah and Matthew Welch and Hunter Ouillette; two sisters, Gemma Geisman and Robertine Dryer, both of Sebastian, FL., one brother, Lucien “Pete” Marquis New Hampshire; a daughter-in-law, Rita Ouillette of Portland; many nieces and nephews. Theresa was predeceased by her son, Glen; five brothers, the Rev. Irenee Marquis, CSSR, Robert, Alyre, Gerald and L. Philip Marquis; four sisters, Sister Fernande Marquis, SCIM, Pauline Beaulieu, Geraldine Beaupre and Carmen Doucette; and a granddaughter, Katie Ouillette.
Calling hours were held at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Tuesday, June 12, 2018, from 9 a.m. until the time of services. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 11 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be at Old Holy Rosary Cemetery.
