Flags to fly at half-staff to honor slain journalists

AUGUSTA, Maine — In respect for the victims of the shooting at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, on June 28, Governor Paul R. LePage has directed the United States flag and the State of Maine flag be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset this evening, July 3, 2018.

“Ann and I send our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and all those who have been affected by this tragedy,” stated Governor LePage.

President Donald J. Trump issued a proclamation today directing flags to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims.
