Houlton Ultimate Summer League action heats up

Play in the Houlton Ultimate Summer League continues to heat up as the second week of competition is now in the books.

In the first game of the week, F.A. Peabody Company defeated Bond Family Roofing 11-9 in a back-and-forth contest. Bond captain Brad Burlock commanded the field and a couple of early scores showed the team had improved significantly over its week 1 loss.

FAPCO however answered quickly with scores of their own to hang in the game.  BOND ended up winning the first half and was in good shape heading into the second half. The second half featured a balanced attack out of FAPCO’s Isaiah Brown, Jeremy Cook, Joel Bond.  Together the three were able to find their receivers several times for plenty of scores to eventually tie the game and sneak away with the win.

In the second game of the night, Carmichael Masonry defeated WHOU 11-7. Carmichael Masonry got into the win column thanks to a hot start. The team began to waiver late in the first half, allowing WHOU to take a 6-5 halftime lead.

After the break, Carmichael Masonry shook things up and focused on what made the start of their game so smooth — clean passing, hard cuts from the receivers, and a little bit of confidence. The team let up only one point in the second half.
