ISLAND FALLS, Maine — Beautiful weather has made for enjoyable golf.  The course is in nice shape. Improvements are taking place daily, so come and enjoy everything VaJoWa has to offer.

The first Friday night frolic proved to a great success. The team of Ted Pettengill, Kerin and Adam Derosier shot the only under par score, a nice 35, with Kerin making both birdie putts.  Finishing second were Clay Halliday, with Deb and John Porter at 36. Tied for third with a 38 were Warren Walker, Valerie Powers and Terry Pettengill and Ralph Powers, Lauren and Joe McAuliffe.

Other scores were Bev Osborn, Matt and Dick Kelley with 39 and April Bates, Greg Gayne and Peter Lawlor with a 40.  All enjoyed the BOGO appetizers and beverages at the end of the round at the Slice. The same format will be used this Friday.  Please sign up by 5:15.

A great crowd participated in the Sunday Pairs and Spares 9-hole scramble which was dedicated to the memory and life of Greg Douglas.  Eight teams played and enjoyed dinner at the Slice after the round. Some confusion existed as to how to score the event but all enjoyed the day.

Good scores from this week’s Twilight League were Clay Halliday 37, Stu Kelley 38, Steve Merry 39 and  Mark Elwell 46. Undefeated teams are Scott Savage/Greg Gayne, Steve Merry/Russ Toothaker and Bill Dwyer /Warren Walker.

Remember the Slice is open every day at 11am.  They have daily specials and your favorite beverage.
