Sustainable Agriculture Society seeks farmer input

POLAND, Maine, and STATEWIDE — The Maine Sustainable Agriculture Society invites farmers and businesses involved in greenhouse and year-round growing in Maine to share their input on business and industry needs through a survey this summer.

Information from the survey will guide the future work and development of the Sustainable Year-Round Agriculture Cluster, an initiative funded through the Maine Technology Institute and launched in 2014 with the intent of connecting technology, engineering, research and development resources to support and expand year-round agriculture production in Maine.

Responses will be accepted through midnight on July 20. An online version of the survey is available at www.mesas.org.

MESAS is a farmer-led organization providing information and resources to help Maine farms achieve “triple bottom line results”, regardless of the scale they operate at, or the production methods they use. MESAS supports profitable farms, healthy ecosystems and strong communities by coordinating research into emerging trends and technologies, serving as a hub for decision making information, and conducting pilot projects and demonstrations that provide practical experience in a peer-to-peer learning environment.
