Speakers to visit Presque Isle, Houlton for ‘Deep State’ overview

HOULTON and PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Hal Shurtleff, director of Camp Constitution, will present an overview of the “Deep State” in Houlton and Presque Isle on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, respectively.

The Houlton gathering will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, at Tang’s Chinese Cuisine, 60 North St. In Presque Isle, Shurtleff will speak at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Sargent Family Community Center.

He will discuss the concept of the “Deep State,” groups and individuals involved, and how to expose and stop it.

Following the presentation in Presque Isle, extra training sessions from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. will detail “The U.S. Constitution and Oathkeeping” with Shurtleff, along with “The Maine Constitution and Oathkeeping” with Phil Merletti. Light refreshments will be available. Please RSVP.
