Fond memories ‘Baldy’ and Codelia Inman got a chance to stand next to the restored 1937 Chevrolet that was purchased new by Mrs. Inman’s mother, Molly Putnam, and delivered to Houlton by the B&A Railroad. According to son Joe Inman, Mrs. Putnam drove the car for many years, winering it on blocks. Later, Mrs. Inman drove the car and then passed it on to Joe during his high school years. In college, with the car needing repairs, Joe sold it and after it passed on again to another owner, Greg Roderick bought the car in 1988 and began an extensive restoration project. The Chevy is a national champion now, garnering trophies at shows around the country. It was in Houlton over the weekend as part of the Potato Feast car display and ‘cruise.’

Thomas was involved with the Soil and Water Conservation and introduced the agricultural courses into the high school curriculum. Thomas is a special friend to the staff of the Elm Tree Diner and gathered around him to celebrate.
