PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged three vehicles in the parking lot of Marden’s Wednesday afternoon.

The Presque Isle Fire Department responded to the fire shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, said Presque Isle fire captain Vince Baldwin.

While it’s not clear what led to the fire, Baldwin said the fire department has determined that one car caught fire and that flames soon spread to two adjacent vehicles.

No one was injured in the fire and the damaged vehicles were set to be towed from the scene, Baldwin said. The Marden’s store remained open through the incident.
