PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The suspect in an Aug. 18 car chase that ended in the crash of a stolen vehicle into a home in Presque Isle was arrested by Maine State Police in Woodland Friday.

Lt. Brian Harris of the Maine State Police said that Brandon Green, 22, of Presque Isle, was arrested on a warrant in Woodland on Aug. 31.

Green had been sought by police on an arrest warrant for violating probation on a previous charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon. That charge stemmed from a 2014 incident in Mapleton where Green and two juveniles were accused of threatening at gunpoint a newspaper delivery driver, who they believed was someone else.

On Saturday, Aug. 18, Presque Isle police officers encountered Green when responding to a report of a fight at an apartment on State Street in Presque Isle.

The officers reported that Green jumped out of a second-story window, ran away on foot and then stole a car from a gas station. Later that day, Green was located in the car by a Maine State Police trooper in Mapleton, and led the trooper on a chase that ended with the stolen car crashing into a home at the intersection of Mechanic Street and Coburn Avenue, according to police.

Green then fled on foot with officers unable to locate him until Friday when he was arrested in Woodland. Details about the arrest were not immediately available.

Green is being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton awaiting an appearance in district court.
