Chasse and Doughty make all-conference squad

MACHIAS, Maine — Two former Ashland girls’ soccer standouts made an immediate mark on the University of Maine at Machias soccer team as freshmen.

Amber Chasse and Morgan Doughty were the top two goal and point scorers for the Clippers and were recently rewarded with berths on the Yankee Small College Conference all-conference team.

Chasse led UMM in both goals (18) and assists (10) to finish with a team-high 46 points, while Doughty put in 10 goals and six assists to total 26 points.

Their team ended the season with a 9-8 overall record and the Clippers were 5-2 in conference play.

Teammate Megan Cote, another freshman from Ashland, made 13 starts and was the goalkeeper in 11 of them. She finished with a goals against average of 2.31.
