CARIBOU, Maine — The first baby of the new year at Cary Medical Center arrived on Friday, Jan. 4.

Brycen Andrew Boyles, weighed 8 pounds, .5 ounces, and measured 21 inches, when he was born at 8:18 a.m. to parents Erica Moir Boyles and Bradlee Boyles of Woodland.

The hospital and its auxiliary presented the baby and family several gifts in honor of his being the first baby born at Cary in 2019, according to a press release sent from Casey Bouchard, communications and community relations for Pines Health Services and Cary Medical Center.

“Cary Auxiliary members personally donate gifts and handmade items for the New Year’s baby basket, which includes items for the baby and for Mom and Dad,” Bouchard, wrote.

The auxiliary members have coordinated the gift giving project and made personal donations for over a decade, he said.

“Ladies from the Crown of Maine Quilters have also donated a beautiful handmade quilt for the New Year’s baby, a longstanding tradition from the generous quilting group.”
