CARIBOU, Maine — The National Weather Service Office in Caribou has canceled the winter storm warning for Aroostook County and other areas as of 12:48 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, but meteorologists have issued a winter weather advisory due to blowing snow until 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22.

The advisory covers northwest Aroostook, northeast Aroostook, northern

Somerset, northern Piscataquis, northern Penobscot, southeast Aroostook, central Piscataquis and southern Piscataquis counties.

Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and cause localized hazardous travel. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

A winter weather advisory for blowing snow means blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Expect snow-covered roads and limited visibility, and drive cautiously.
