Board recertifies local physician

CARIBOU, MaineDr. Krista Burchill, a longstanding family practice physician with the Caribou Health Center team at Pines Health Services, has received recertification in family medicine from the American Board of Family Medicine.

Family medicine certification is a continuous process that requires being in compliance with guidelines for professionalism licensure and personal conduct including maintaining a valid state medical license at all times, completing certification activities in a timely fashion, and performing successfully on the family medicine certification examination every 10 years.

According to Pines officials, certification indicates that a doctor has the knowledge, experience and skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care. Although board certification is voluntary, ABFM certification is recognized throughout the world as signifying excellence in the practice of Family Medicine.

“Dr. Burchill continually demonstrates her abilities in providing the best care possible and is truly committed to lifelong learning, which is necessary to provide the highest quality care that every patient deserves,” said Lisa Caron, Chief Operating Officer at Pines Health Services.
