Katahdin Trust announces 3 promotions to vice president

HOULTON, Maine — Jon Prescott, Katahdin Trust president and CEO, announced Jan. 30 the promotions of the three employees in administration and operations.

Katherine “Katie” Hill has been promoted to vice president, bank operations manager. Hill joined Katahdin Trust Company in 2003 and has served in multiple positions at the bank’s Houlton Branch including teller, branch service representative and customer service representative.  In 2012, she joined the operations department as operations supervisor. In 2013 she was promoted to the position of Assistant Vice President, Bank Operations Manager. Hill will continue to oversee all bank operations for deposits, loans and electronic banking.

A graduate of Houlton High School, Hill earned her general banking diploma, bank operations diploma and supervisor certificate from the Northern New England Center for Financial Training. She also attended the Northern New England School of Banking in Durham, New Hampshire and the Young Professionals Institute in Presque Isle. In 2018 she graduated from the New England School for Financial Studies in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Hill is actively involved in her community and was awarded the 2017 Top of the Mountain Commitment to Community Award by Katahdin Trust.

Natasha McCarthy has been promoted to vice president, human resources director. McCarthy joined Katahdin Trust in 2009 as a human resources assistant. She was promoted to human resources generalist in 2014 and human resources director in 2016. She is responsible for developing and implementing human resource policies and procedures to recruit and retain the best possible staff to provide superior service to the bank’s customers. In addition, she oversees the bank’s outstanding benefits package and culture of employee engagement, both of which helped earn Katahdin Trust a 2018 Best Places to Work in Maine designation.

McCarthy is a graduate of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, Northern New England School of Banking in Durham New Hampshire, as well as the Young Professionals Institute in Presque Isle. She is a member of Northeast Society for Human Resource Management and is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). Actively involved in the community, McCarthy resides in Houlton with her family.

Kate Goodwin has been promoted to vice president, project manager. Goodwin began her career with Katahdin Trust in 2010 as a bank secrecy act (BSA) assistant. She was promoted to BSA Manager in 2012, BSA Officer in 2013 and Project Manager in 2017. Goodwin’s focus is on continually increasing the bank’s overall productivity and profitability by working closely with senior management, department heads and vendors in delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope. Goodwin’s expanded role includes overseeing the bank’s training department.

A native of Durham, North Carolina, Goodwin holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro. She is a graduate of the Young Professionals Institute in Presque Isle. Active within her community, she is an official for Aroostook Roller Derby. Goodwin lives with her family in Caribou.
