White joins transportation panel

AUGUSTA and WASHBURN, Maine — State Rep. Dustin M. White (R-Washburn) has joined the 129th Maine Legislature’s Joint Standing Committees on Transportation, which oversees Maine’s infrastructure, as well as the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

“Maine’s transportation system is the lifeblood of our economy and commerce,” said White. “Service on the Transportation Committee will broaden my ability to serve Aroostook County and Maine. Improving rural roads, waterways and railroads benefits everyone.”

The committee’s jurisdiction also includes the Maine Turnpike Authority; Highway Fund; transportation policy; aeronautics; highway and bridge construction and maintenance; highway safety; waterways; railroads; Department of Public Safety; Maine State Police; and motor vehicles and motor carriers.

White, who works as a Broker in the Logistics Industry, is serving his third term representing District 146: Blaine, Castle Hill, Chapman, Mapleton, Mars Hill, Perham, Wade, Washburn, Westfield and Woodland.
