To the editor:
Thank you for Paula Brewer’s article [D-Day: the world remembers] on the most significant time in our history.
Many, many boys and men lost their lives on those beaches. I had three older brothers in WWll. My oldest brother landed on Iwo Jima in February 1945. He did come home safely.
I hope the schools take time to teach their students the history of all wars. The men and women who serve deserve to be noted.
I wish I could have seen those planes that stopped in Presque Isle. I’m so glad the turnout was huge.
We miss “The County” and the wonderful people who live there. We treasured our customers and our beautiful ladies who worked for us at Wilkins in Presque Isle.
