FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Officials with TD Bank and the Northern Maine Community College Foundation are hosting the 14th annual golf tournament at the Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield Thursday, Aug. 8.

“TD Bank is pleased to be the title sponsor of this most enjoyable and beneficial event for these fourteen consecutive years. This year’s tournament again benefits the NMCC Foundation.  Funds raised will support the many worthwhile ongoing activities of the Foundation and will provide important scholarships for many worthy students through the TD Bank Scholarship Fund,” said Jeff Pangburn, vice president, senior commercial relationship manager of TD Bank.

In addition to the title sponsor TD Bank, ABM Mechanical, Emera Main, Frank Martin Sons, Inc., Louisiana Pacific, MMG Insurance, and RM Davis are major sponsors of the event.  Last year’s tournament raised over $19,000, and this year’s event promises to be even more successful with the addition of several new sponsors.

The tournament will also feature a hole-in-one prize, a cruise package sponsored by Dream Vacations. Lunch is sponsored by Dead River, Northern Maine Media-WHOU, and Aramark, who will also prepare lunches.

Among the hole sponsors are Cary Medical Center, Columbia Forest Products, The County Federal Credit Union, Daigle and Houghton, Daigle Oil Company, Gallagher Insurance, Huber Engineering, Levesque Business Solutions, Machias Savings Bank, McCrum Family Holdings, LLC, Northern Light A.R. Gould, P and E Distributors, Seven Islands Land Co. and WBRC Architects Engineers.

Half-hole sponsors include A and L Construction, Bradstreet Family Farms, Buck Construction, F.A. Peabody, Husson University, NMCC Bookstore, NMCC Student Nurses Association, NMCC Student Senate Phi Theta Kappa, Richard Engels, Skills USA, Soderberg Co., Sullivan Floor Covering, Thompson & Hamel, LLC, and United Insurance.

Auction items for both a silent auction and a live auction have been donated by several business and individuals. The silent auction will be held following the tournament and the live auction will conclude the evening following dinner.

“I encourage all to take advantage of a great day of golf and camaraderie in support of students,” said Dottie Martin, NMCC Foundation executive director, who serves as chair of the golf tournament.  “This event serves as one fundraiser in support of the NMCC Foundation. “Non-golfers are also welcome to attend the dinner and auctions,” added Martin

Registration begins at 10 a.m. and tee-off starts at 11 a.m. A silent auction is set for 4 p.m. followed by dinner and the live auction.
