Agency on Aging offers courses on ‘Living Well’

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Aroostook Agency on Aging and Healthy Living for ME will offer two six-week workshops to help people learn to manage health conditions.

Living Well with Diabetes will begin from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and run for a total of six Tuesdays. Living Well for Better Health will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon on six Wednesdays, Aug. 28 through Oct. 2. Both classes will meet in Presque Isle at the Aroostook Agency on Aging, 260 Main St.

Diabetes sessions will help people with the condition to better manage their symptoms, stress, medications, and their daily lives. Adults experiencing diabetes, as well as family members, caregivers, and friends, are welcome to attend.

Living Well for Better Health is for people who may have health conditions like heart disease, asthma, Lyme disease or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Patients who have completed the series have reported improved symptom management, increased physical activity, better communication with medical providers and general health improvement.
