Air Museum invites public to open house

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Air Museum will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, to celebrate both its 20th anniversary and National Museum Day.

The museum was established in 1999 to honor the men and women who served their country at the Presque Isle Army Air Field and to preserve, chronicle, display and promote awareness of the history of aviation in Presque Isle, especially at the Presque Isle Army Air Field and the Presque Isle Air Force Base.

Visitors may simply browse the exhibits or participate in a scavenger hunt.  Children will receive a free WWII Warbirds aircraft coloring page.

The Air Museum is located at the south end of the Presque Isle International Airport terminal at 650 Airport Drive.  Visitors should enter through the south end door rather than the main terminal or luggage area doors.
