PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Seniors Achieving Greater Education will host a kick-off event at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10,  at the University of Maine at Presque Isle Campus Center to launch their fall course programming.

For over two decades, SAGE has offered adults over age 50 opportunities to continue their education, according to a press release from the organization’s vice chairwoman, Susanne Sandusky.

The kick-off will take place in the Campus Center Multipurpose Room.

“All are welcome, so bring a friend to hear about upcoming courses from SAGE members and instructors, and discover the joys of sharing in this life-long learning adventure,” Sandusky said.

Registration for courses through the SAGE program is open now through Sept. 22 and people can find a complete listing of SAGE’s fall 2019 courses and a registration form by visiting www.umpi.edu/sage or calling the SAGE office at 207-768-9501.

“Courses range from Reading Contemporary Poets, to The Amazing Planets, to PI Citizens Police Academy. For entertainment and fun, we offer Let’s Go to the Movies, Readers Theatre and a variety of special activities,” said Sandusky.

The annual membership in SAGE is $25, the release stated. Courses are $5 for members, though some courses and activities may have additional fees.

In addition, SAGE members will be able to access free bus tickets to their courses within the Aroostook Regional Transportation System bus route.
