Sherman Old Home Days celebrated

SHERMAN, Maine — Sherman Old Home Days was another resounding success despite dealing with rain on Labor Day for the annual celebration.

The annual book sale by Friends of the Library offered more books than ever and was busy on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

One of Saturday’s activities was the auction, with many folks leaving with some fantastic bargains. The Alumni Banquet was well attended as were the dance and fireworks that evening. Sunday saw many lobsters served up to a hungry crowd. That afternoon was the Children’s Parade, music in the park, a petting zoo, and other activities.

Rain didn’t shorten the line for the famous doughnuts Monday morning and the parade participants went around twice as they normally do.  The Quilt Show, Craft Fair, Music in the Park and other activities went on as usual, although some were a bit damp.
