See a turkey? DIFW wants to know

AROOSTOOK COUNTY, Maine — The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is asking Aroostook County residents to report sightings of wild turkeys in a new survey.

From now through April 1, residents who spot wild turkeys, whether singly or in a flock, are invited to visit the DIFW website to report their observations online.

These reported sightings will help the department better understand Aroostook County’s wild turkey population and inform hunting regulations for the fall 2020 wild turkey hunting season.

To report observations, 1) Count the total number of turkeys; 2) count how many of those turkeys have beards (if possible); 3) report the location (road name and town), and when you saw them; and 4) enter the information in this short survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/aroostookcountyturkey
