Caribou wrestlers place at PVC Championships

BAR HARBOR, Maine — Five of eight Caribou wrestlers placed during the Penobscot Valley Conference championship meet held Saturday at Mount Desert Island.

New wrestling coach Thomas Beckum, who took over the program from James “Chico” Hernandez, said Seth Lister led the way for the Vikings with three wins and only one loss in the 160 pound weight class.

“Seth was ranked in the 170 weight class and had moved down to the 160 weight class for the first time this season at the championships,” said Beckum. “It paid off for Seth as he had to work his way up and place third.”

Angel Riopelle (138 pounds) placed third with a 2-1 record, and Kaden DeMerchant (182 pounds) also placed third with a 2-1 record.

Ethan Edgecomb (106 pounds) and Tom O’Meara (152 pounds) placed fourth.
