WASHBURN, Maine — Principal Larry Worcester, along with the staff of Washburn District High School, have announced that Patrick Tardie II and Chase Hobbs have been named co-Students of the Month for the month of January.

Tardie is a junior at WDHS and the son of Paul and Yvonne Tardie.  He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Gaming Club.

Staff members remarked, “Patrick is a kind, passionate person.  He loves to be challenged academically as well as musically.”

His musical talents have earned him participation in both the All-Aroostook Chorus Festival and All-Aroostook Band Festival.

Hobbs is a freshman at WDHS and the son of Craig and Crystal Hobbs.  He is freshman class president, as well as a member of the Woodworking Club that Mr. Hanson advises.

“Chase has already become a standout of the group,” Hanson said. “He is always up for a challenge and works hard to get his work done.”  Staff members said, “Chase is honest and trustworthy. He’s a hardworking student in and out of the classroom.”

Most mornings, Hobbs may be seen outside shoveling and sanding the front walk to help out.  He helps set up the gym for ball games and will do whatever anyone asks of him.

Worcester and staff congratulated both students.
