FALMOUTH, Maine – Abbey Player of Fort Fairfield and Chelsey Carroll of Presque Isle traveled downstate, representing the Skating Club of Maine-Northern Region at the seventh annual Snowflake Skate Competition.
The event, hosted by the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club featured skaters from around New England.
Player competed in the freeskate 2 compulsory event and took home a second-place medal and in the program with music event where she took fourth-place, skating to music from “Oliver Twist.”
Carroll took part in the freeskate three compulsory event where she took home a bronze medal and in the program with music where she earned a second-place medal skating to “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.”
Both skaters are coached by Haley Kelley and Sarah Duncan of Presque Isle. The Skating Club of Maine-Northern Region is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with the annual ice show to be held this weekend.
