Schillinger-McPherson promoted
Child Development Services of Aroostook County continues under new leadership, announced Board Chairperson Mary Guerrette. Dawn Schillinger-McPherson was appointed to serve as the site’s regional director on March 6. Dawn replaces Kenneth C. Arndt, who had been with the organization since 1994 and who accepted another position elsewhere in northern Maine. Dawn has served as the site’s interim director since Sept. 5, 2006.
Schillinger-McPherson has been working for CDS-Aroostook County for over seven years and holds several significant advanced degrees and certificates, which will help her function effectively as the new site director. She holds a masters of education degree in special education/early intervention and a certificate of graduate studies from the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine. She also is licensed as a social worker by the state of Maine and is 282 certified by the Maine Department of Education.
“The early intervention services of the CDS-Aroostook County site will continue relatively unchanged under Schillinger-McPherson’s leadership,” said Guerrette.
Child Development Services of Aroostook County is an early intervention agency functioning under the auspices of the Maine Department of Education providing a wide range of education-related services to pre-school children with disabilities throughout northern Maine.
Wilcox honored for effort
PRESQUE ISLE – Mary Wilcox, a Presque Isle resident, was recently honored by lia sophia, the direct-selling company that offers jewelry through in-home demonstrations for every occasion that comes to mind..
Wilcox received a Quarterly Recruiting Award in recognition of outstanding recruiting efforts for October through December. In addition to adding to her team, she also worked with them to ensure that they started successfully.
