Crawford, Jeanette, 91, October 18, 2007. Arrangements by Dunn Funeral Home, Houlton. Houlton – Janette (Nettie) Alice Crawford 91, died Oct. 18, 2007 at a local healthcare facility. She was born June 12, 1916 at Woodstock, NB, Canada, the daughter of Edward and Charity (Mildred) McNinch Greer.
Nettie was a member of the Court Street Baptist Church, the Houlton Community Country Club, the Aroostook Hospital Auxiliary and Houlton Regional Hospital Auxiliary where she was former State President. She was a snowsledder and member of the Meduxnekeag Snowmobile Club, and enjoyed bowling at the Dux Club and Elks Lodge. For many years, Nettie was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She loved to entertain, have company and play bridge. She and her husband Ruel traveled in their various campers across country several times. They were members of the New Brunswick Antique Car Club and attended many Antique Car Shows.
Nettie is survived by her son Carl Crawford and his wife Patricia of Houlton; four grandchildren, Carla McCluney and her husband Kenneth, Glen Crawford and his wife Suzanne, Gail Goodson and her husband Gerald, Sheila Sennett and her husband Duane; nine great- grandchildren, Kevin McCluney, Brian McCluney and his wife Stephanie, Nicholas Sennett, Brad Sennett, Jeffrey Goodson, Patricia Goodson, Emily Crawford, Neil Crawford and Matthew Crawford; one sister, Jean Stanley and her husband Lance of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years Ruel Crawford, three brothers, Lawrence, Paul and Leonard Greer; two sisters, Maude and Irma; half sisters, Dorothy, Sadie, Lucy and Ruth; half brother, Edward (Ted); and beloved sister-in-law, Laura Greer.
Funeral services were held at the Dunn Funeral Home 1:00 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating. Gifts may be made in Nettie’s memory to the Cary Library or Houlton Health Service Foundation, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, 04730.
