Forest home on Leave Mike Forest was home on leave recently, visiting with family and friends. He is the son of Cathy and Craig Kennedy of Merrill and grandson of Marty and Harley Dickinson of Oakfield and Paul and Linda Forest of Oakfield and Florida.
Mike was deployed in February with the U.S. Navy Riverines to Iraq for eight months. The Riverines are responsible for maritime interdiction operations and security patrols along the Euphrates River. This is the first Riverine deployment since the Viet Nam War.
Mike’s home base is in Little Creek, Va. where he will remain until future deployments.
