We, the Aroostook Agency on Aging, are going to do it again — for the twenty-first time. We and the Caring County Craft Fair will be at the Presque Isle Inn and Convention Center Saturday, November 17, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.     As in years past, our Fair is an exhibit and sale of fancywork. The proceeds will support programs of the Aroostook Agency on Aging. Crafters from around the state will offer for sale candles, wood items, stained glass, photographs and frames, paintings, carvings, knit items, pies, breads, cookies, and on and on.
Our Fair represents us. First, it is a friendly place. Then, photographs, paintings, and carvings often reflect our rural taste. Knit items usually reflect our winter. Home cooked food is the same fare as relished by generations of Aroostook folks. However, the food offered at our Fair will not be generations old. Guaranteed.
The fair is a good time for me personally. My wife likes to cook. She “cooks up a storm” for the fair. Since she can freeze stuff and thaw it out just in time, her cooking storm lasts quite a while. She doesn’t have time to think up things for me to do. I have time to do things I want to do — like writing this.
    See ya at the Fair.
