CARIBOU – An Aroostook County grand jury recently completed two days of deliberations, handing up 68 indictments against 64 different persons. “We only missed tying the record for cases presented by one. Nevertheless, this was one of the busiest sessions, as several of the cases involved multiple counts, arising from crime sprees,” said District Attorney Neale Adams. “Naturally, drug abuse, trafficking and the consequences thereof remain featured prominently in these offenses.”
A crime spree led to David Harmon’s appearance before the grand jury, in Caribou. Harmon, 28, of Presque Isle, was indicted on five counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, five counts of theft, criminal trespass and violating condition of release for his involvement in a string of burglaries and thefts in the Presque Isle area. Harmon had attempted to elude police on several occasions for questioning in connection with several reported burglaries but was subsequently caught with a stolen vehicle by law enforcement officials in Massachusetts on Oct. 2 and returned to Maine to face several charges.
