According information issued by Sgt. David McPherson, the Nov. 11 incident happened just before 8 p.m. when a masked gunman entered Grand Lake Variety, a store on Route 1 in Weston.
“He (the suspect) demanded the store’s money while pointing a handgun at the clerk,” stated McPherson. “While leaving the store, the suspect stated, ‘This is for Robert Tomah.’”
State Police believe the suspect fled on foot to a car parked down the road and headed toward Danforth.
The suspect was a white male, with blue eyes and standing between 5-foot, 3-inches and 5-foot, 5-inches tall. At the time of the burglary, he was wearing a black ski mask and a gray, tattered, zip-up hooded sweatshirt.
Trooper Carman Lilley is investigating; those assisting at the scene included Trooper Gene Sutton and his canine unit Kruz, several other troopers and members of the Border Patrol.
Anyone with any information in the case should contact the Maine State Police at 532-5400 or (800) 924-2261.
