ones enjoys area recreation Tim Jones, freelance writer recently visited Aroostook County with his wife Marilyn to experience some of the areas multi-use trails. Here the couple travels along the Aroostook Valley Trail in Caribou. Jones is especially interested in promoting healthy lifestyles and possibly encouraging people from other areas of New England to take advantage of the area’s natural resources.
The couple was especially impressed with the sampling of trails they visited and hope to come back and experience the diverse Nordic ski opportunities the County offers. Jones writes a regular column for a number of newspapers across southern New England. The couple was accompanied by Caribou Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Kathy Mazzuchelli on their bike tour and Leo Freeman of Presque Isle who introduced the couple to the beauty of kayak paddling the Aroostook River.
