Mike Chasse Benefit  Raffle and Luau
    A luau and raffle will be held to raise funds for Mike Chasse who was seriously injured in a skiing accident earlier this year. The event will take place Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Northeastland Hotel Ballroom from 7 to 11 p.m.
    Minimum ticket donation is $7 for singles or $12 per couple. Raffle tickets are available for purchase at County Physical Therapy or at the luau for $10, or three for $20.
MWSC Race Program Information
    Maine Winter Sports Center will hold an informational session about their race program today at 7 p.m. at the Caribou office. Skiers in grades eight to 12 are encouraged to attend with their parents. For more information contact Eileen Carey at 227-4114.
Girl’s youth hockey league
    The girl’s youth hockey league began in October and continues to invite new participants. The program is for ages 10 to 17, and will run to March. The team meets at the Forum in Presque Isle on Tuesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. For more information contact Dennis Albert at 764-3862.
TAMC/TD Banknorth Eastern Series Races
    Volunteers are needed to help at the TAMC/TD Banknorth cross country ski event to be held at the Nordic Heritage Center on Dec. 15 and 16. For more information, call 551-1705 or email heidibartleynhsc@maine.rr.com.
Nordic Walking Club
    The Nordic walking club will meet every Tuesday at noon at noon at Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle until Dec. 18. Membership is $100 and includes a pair of walking poles and a Craft brand Pro-warm base layer. Contact Melanie Stewart at 760-9500.
Fort Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department programs
    Open gym times: Fridays 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturdays 1:30 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m.
Turkey Trot 5K
    The annual Turkey Trot 5k will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24 starting at Caribou High School. Registration begins at 9 a.m., the race following at 10 a.m. The registration fee is $10. The first 50 runners get shirts. For more information, contact Dan Harrigan at 498-3226.
    Post race ceremonies include turkey topped pizza and awards for the race winners.
Adventure Sundays
    The Nordic Heritage Sport Club and Maine Winter Sports Center are teaming up to host another “Adventure Sunday” at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle. Area youth in grades five to eight are invited to participate in a Poker Hike on Sunday, Dec. 2 from 1 to 4 p.m.
    This activity will include an introduction to the basics of orienteering and using a map and compass, and will feature a trek on the trails of the Nordic Heritage Center.

Presque Isle High School season passes

    PIHS athletics department announces that season passes for varsity basketball and ice hockey may be purchased at the athletic office.
    Prices follow: basketball only $30, ice hockey only $25 and combination $50.
Aroostook football awards

    The Aroostook Football awards banquet was held on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
    The KFC championship trophy went to the Valley Mustangs.  The Offensive Player of the Year award went to Brandon Bosse of the Valley Mustangs. The Defensive Player of the Year award went to Lucas Richards of the Central Aroostook Huskies. The League Most Valuable Player award went to Hank Milligan of the Central Aroostook Huskies. Presidential awards for outstanding citizenship went to Matt Harris of the Central Aroostook Huskies, Eric Lindsay of the Southern Aroostook Knights and Tony Rizzitano of the Valley Mustangs. A total of 51 players received varsity letters.
