Vernon and Beverly DeLong of Presque Isle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 8, 2007 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Adam Stoutamyer in Mapleton. They were married Dec. 10, 1957 in Robinson by the Rev. H.W. Carpenter.
Carole Soucy made a three-layer cake to resemble the bride and groom’s original wedding cake. Holden Stoutamyer, grandson of Vern and Barb, acted as ring bearer and carried a Bible decorated with flowers and ribbons from the couple’s wedding. Their granddaughter, Hannah Stoutamyer, wore her Mimi’s wedding dress for all in attendance. The couple danced to their favorite song, “Just Look At Us” by Vince Gill, before cutting their cake. Many friends and family were able to attend. A wonderful time was had by all.
The couple has two daughters, Debbie DeLong of Waterville and Kristi Stoutamyer of Mapleton.
