Hut to Hut snowshoe
    Mojo’s is sponsoring a hut to hut snowshoe tour at the Nordic Heritage Center on Saturday, Dec. 29. Participants must pre-register to preserve a spot. Cost is $5 per person and includes breakfast and hot beverages at both huts. Rentals are available. For more information, call 760-9500.
Maine Winter Sports Center
    Another overnight racer camp for fourth to eighth grade students in Fort Kent, Dec. 27 to 28. Join MWSC at the 10th Mountain Lodge for some early-season cross country skiing. Contact Eileen Carey for more information.
    The Maine High School Nordic Festival will take place Dec. 27 to 30 at the 10th Mountain Ski Center in Fort Kent. All coaches and teams are welcome. Contact Eileen Carey for more information.
    10th Mountain Ski Center will hold the 10th Mountain Ski Club Citizen Race on Dec. 30. For more information contact Sherry Dubis at sdubis@nscon.org.
Small Steps Dance
    Small Steps Dance will begin their winter session on Sunday, Jan 6. at the Caribou Recreation Department. For more information, call 551-2050 or email cjsmall@maine.rr.com.
Toddler Discovery On the farm
    Caribou Parks and Recreation will hold classes from Jan. 14 to Feb. 11 about life on the farm. Session one will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. and session two will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. There are still openings in session one. There are no programs on Jan. 21st.
Recreation basketball
    All basketball meets at the Hilltop School gym. Pre-registration is required.    
Grades one and two basketball will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Session one will meet February 26 through March 18 and session two March 20 through April 10.
    Grades three and four basketball will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The program will run from February 25 to April 9. Girls in grade four have the option of playing with the boys and girls program or going into the girls four to six program.
    Grades four to six girls basketball will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The program runs from Wednesday, Nov. 14 to February 13.
    Grades five and six boys basketball will meet Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The program will run from Tuesday, Nov. 13 to February 12.
Power of prevention exercise class
    This class will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Due to construction at the Recreation Center, the class will meet in the downstairs of the Lions Community Building. The class runs to Dec. 31.
Cary exercise class
    This class meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the downstairs of the Lions Community Building through Dec. 14. The fee is $1 per person per class.
Elks hoop shoot
    The Elk’s National Free Throw Hoop Shoot will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hilltop School gym. The event is for boys and girls ages eight to 13. Age is determined by their age as of April 1, 2008.
Cross country ski trails
    The Caribou cross country ski trails are now open.  Season passes are available at the Recreation Center.
    The fees are $40 per family, $35 for couples, $20 per adult or $10 per student. The Daily fees are $2 per adult and $1 per student. Children nine and under ski for free.
Local hotshot competition
    The MRPA local hotshot competition will be held on Friday, Jan. 25 at the Caribou Middle School gym. The competition begins at 4 p.m. The event is open to boys and girls ages nine to 18 who are not varsity basketball players. The age is determined as of March 31, 2008. Pre-registration is required.
