• In the state track meet, Presque Isle’s Elizan McLean placed 11th in 110 meter hurdles, Wildcat Katrina Whittier crossed at 16th in 300 meter hurdles and Corey Park ranked at sixth and fifth in the 1,600 and 800 meter respectively. • Presque Isle, Ashland, Central Aroostook and Fort Fairfield went into quarterfinals in softball and baseball. Hornet baseball topped the Panthers, 3-2, and Fort Fairfield to move on to the class D Eastern Maine game.
July 2007
• Five Aroostook County youth were selected to travel to national finals in the Hershey Youth Track and Field program in Hershey, Penn. Kayla Richards, of Presque Isle, competed in the softball throw.
August 2007
• The Presque Isle swim team captured first place at the County Swim Meet with Caribou in second and Mapleton in third.
• William Casavant, of Presque Isle, and Steve Shaw, of Mars Hill, were inducted into the Northern Region of the Maine Sports Legends Hall of Honors.
September 2007
• The Presque Isle golf team went into their championship rounds in a perfect team record.
• Corey Park claimed the boy’s title in the 58th annual Old Town Sectional Invitational in cross country.
October 2007
• Presque Isle golfers ranked eighth in the state tournament in southern Maine.
• Wildcat cross country took the Pendale Invitational title over Hermon, Orono, John Bapst and Penobscot Valley.
• Wildcat Park paced himself to the Penobscot Valley Conference Championship title in 16:35.6.
November 2007
• After a delayed game, both Ashland teams fall in the state finals of Class D soccer at Hampden Academy in hard fought matches against Richmond.
• The UMPI men’s cross country teams raced to the 2007 NCAA Division III Independent Northeast Cross Country Championship, with runner Emerson Wright leading the way.
• The UMPI women’s soccer team defeated rivals UMFK, 3-1, to retake the coveted Potato Barrel.
• Beaver Alex Bird is announced as Maine state winner of the Heisman Award for community service, academic performance and athletic abilities.
• The Nordic Heritage Sports Club brings up a snow gun from downstate just in case Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate with snowfall for their mid-December TAMC/TD Banknorth Eastern Cup Series Opener.

• Easton’s Jeremy Brock was named High School Athlete of the Week for the small schools by The Bangor Daily News.
