PERHAM – Christmas was a bit brighter for one local lottery subscription holder. Velma Sperrey, of Perham, was awarded a $1,000 prize during a drawing held just before the holiday. According to lottery officials, the first monthly bonus prize drawing for players that have active subscriptions for the Megabucks and Powerball games was held on Friday, Dec. 21. Three separate drawings were held – one for Megabucks subscribers, one drawing for Powerball subscribers and one drawing for Powerball with Power Play subscribers.
Sperrey was selected in the Megabucks category. Allen R. Cecile, of Lewiston, won $1,000 in the Powerball drawing. Robert C. Shepherd, of Brunswick, was awarded $500 in the Powerball with Power Play category.
For more information on any of the Maine Lottery games, visit www.mainelottery.com. All players who have an active subscription are eligible for the monthly drawings, according to officials.
Powerball subscribers who add the Power Play option to subscriptions are eligible for both drawings.
