Caribou’s finance director and tax collector was elected to the executive board of the Maine Government Finance Officers Association for a three-year term. Wanda Ouellette, the city’s financial officer since 2000, was appointed during the Annual Maine Municipal Association Conference in Augusta in October.
“I’m extremely honored to have been appointed to the MGFOA board,” said Ouellette. “I’m looking forward to representing the city of Caribou for three years.”
As part of her mission, Ouellette will work to strengthen the quality of government administration through advocating favorable local, state and federal legislation and policy. The organization provides a clearinghouse for the exchange of information and solution of common problems.
Ouellette will be involved in recruitment and training of qualified public officials and employees through seminars and workshops. The group promotes efficiency and economy in government operations.
