ATTEND – The University of Maine Black Bears held a hockey clinic for the Southern Aroostook Minor Hockey Association (SAMHA) last week. The clinic, one of three held around the state, is designed both as a ‘thank you’ to UMaine’s hockey fans and as a means of inspiring another generation of hockey players, said organizers with the group Friends of Maine Hockey. On Jan. 13, six members of the UMaine men’s ice hockey team, as well as, one UMaine coach traveled to the John Millar Civic Center to conduct the youth clinic with SAMHA members. Roughly an hour and a half of on-ice time was followed by a meal, autograph and question-and-answer time.
