Daffodil Days is coming to Aroostook County March 17-21. The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers during February and March to take orders, pack, and deliver daffodils. To help fight cancer by volunteering or to place an order, contact Mike Hart at 207-373-3706 or the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
“This program is a great and easy way to make a difference in your community by raising money to help eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease,” said Hart. County residents have until March 1 to place orders for daffodils. For a $10 donation, people receive a bouquet of 10 fresh-cut daffodils. For a donation of $20, The Gift of Hope is a bouquet of 10 daffodils given as an anonymous gift to cancer patients or others at local hospitals, nursing homes, and community health centers. Bea R. Hope, the third in a series of special Boyds™ Bears designed for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days, will be offered in response to a donation of $25. The Bear and a Bunch™ includes a bouquet of daffodils and a 10-inch tall, light-gold colored bear holding a felt daffodil with a felt bumble bee on a flower petal. Potted daffodil bulbs can be received for a donation of $15.
