Edna Henderson Thomas

    AMARGOSA VALLEY, NEVADA – Edna Henderson Thomas was born in Chapman, Maine, July 1, 1921, and after a five week hospital stay to save her life, she was called to heaven at 1:40 a.m. January 16, 2008.     An amazing homemaker, daughter, sister and wife to her beloved husband Earl Thomas, a native of Mapleton, Maine. The past 28 years they have made their home in Amargosa Valley, Nevada. After the loss of her parents Eda and George Henderson of Washburn, Maine the remaining family was proud to call Edna their matriarch.
    She is survived by her husband, Earl; daughter, Susan Sasso; grandchildren, Dale and Marie; great-grandchild, Kaitlyn; sisters, Gertrude Blier and husband Butch of Springfield, OR; Shirley Etor and husband Dr. F. Robert of Las Vegas, NV; Linda Henderson of Framingham, MA; and brother Allen Henderson and wife Maxine of Presque Isle; plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins across the United States. She was predeceased in death by brothers, Glen, Derwood and Wendell; and sister, Roberta. Edna cherished her friends and neighbors, especially Cathy and Steve Carney who moved here from Maine. She leaves behind memories of happy, laughing times and an after-glow of her beautiful smile. Interment will be private.
