To the editor:
I am writing to encourage all Republicans to go and caucus Saturday, Feb. 2, 4 p.m. at the Campus Center of the University of Maine at Presque Isle. I also would like to ask all Republicans to look at the candidates, but give another look at Mike Huckabee. He burst onto the national scene just last month. He was the governor of Arkansas from 1996-2007. While governor, Huckabee supported family values including signing several pieces of pro-life legislation. He is a life-long gun owner, hunter and member of the NRA who has vowed to fight to protect hunting and gun-owning rights. He has a plan to cut taxes to help out all Americans. He comes from a rural working class atmosphere, not unlike that of Aroostook County. He is a compassionate Christian Conservative who can lead America forward in times like these.
