CARIBOU – The Presque Isle girls’ cross country team just edged Caribou by a tie-breaker in last Friday’s nordic ski meet at Caribou High School. Laura Collins of Caribou pushed to first in 22:03 followed in second by Viking Lindsey Cote in 24:03.
Presque Isle’s Erin Thomas made up the top three in 24:19.
Remaining girls’ results follow: 6, Hallie Bartlett (PI) 24:46; 7, Danni Anderson (PI) 25:09; 8, Kristena McKenny (PI) 26:33; and 9, Lily Sund (C) 27:41.
Fort Fairfield went to first around the trails in front of Central Aroostook and Fort Kent. Caribou combined times for fifth place, and Presque Isle pulled into sixth.
Presque Isle’s Corey Park made the finish line for first place in 18:00.
Fort Kent’s Ian Kaleta slid past in second (18:26), and PI athlete Lucas Mathers flew to third in 18:52.
