PRESQUE ISLE – One of every 2.6 female deaths in the United States is due to cardiovascular disease. Join The Aroostook Medical Center and several area organizations at the Aroostook Centre Mall Friday, Feb. 1 to raise awareness about heart disease on the American Heart Association’s National Wear Red Day.     The Aroostook Medical Center will be offering free adult CPR courses (no certification provided), interactive displays, health screenings, refreshments, door prizes, and health information resources from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Other activities at the mall will include Gentile Hall fitness presentations, free train rides for kids, the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce Baked Potato Booth, the Maine Winter Sports Center’s laser rifle demonstration, and the American Red Cross’ Emergency Response Vehicle. Fireman Fred, the Pink Ladies, and the T-birds will provide musical entertainment.
Pre-registration for the free adult CPR course is required by calling TAMC Educational Services at 768-4081.
