ACAP to verify MaineCare eligibility

    PRESQUE ISLE – Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP), in an effort to continue providing quality services in the region, has signed a memorandum of agreement with the State of Maine, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to verify U.S. citizenship and identity for the purpose of meeting the requirements of the 2005 Deficit Reduction Act new MaineCare Rules.  To verify citizenship and identity, a participant must provide an original document such as a state driver’s license, birth certificate or passport.
    MaineCare citizenship and identity verification will be conducted at the ACAP Main Office at 771 Main St., Presque Isle between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or by appointment at 207-768-3045 or toll free in Aroostook County at 1-888-917-1100.
