PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Skate blades scathed the ice at the Forum on Saturday as Presque Isle edged Gardiner with their offensive fervor, 3-1.
Gardiner put in the first puck, but PIHS keeper Ethan Hill kept back the remaining attempts at the Wildcat net with the help of the defensive line to hold the Tigers to a single score.

“Hill played phenomenal in goal,” said head coach Carl Flynn.
PIHS player Josh Buck tied the score in the first period in a play assisted by Brandon Daigle and Dylan Collins. Collins plowed through the Gardiner defense in the second period to make the score 2-1 assisted by Daigle and Parker Hovey. Daigle secured the victory for the Wildcats with his third-period shot assisted by Buck and Greg Cyr.
The Wildcats’ offensive line outshot Houlton-Hodgdon in both the first and third periods of hockey action at the Forum Tuesday, Feb. 5, but the puck wouldn’t slide their way for a final 2-0.
In the second period, the Black Hawks took advantage of power play to put in the first goal and scored another in the waning seconds.
Senior Hill kept the PIHS net with 20 saves on 22 shots.
